My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

There is one word that will tell you all you need to know about the large group of dogs we brought to the shelter in August. That word is patience! Having experience with just 1 or 2 people in her life before us, Simone has become accustomed to staying in the background, not one to volunteer. For those that have the patience, who refuse to give up, their reward is Simone. Simone did have an adoption but was returned to the shelter. She will not do well in an active or loud home. Her transition period will be long, and she needs (and deserves) the right time, family and home that will work with her in the most patient and kind way possible. The group of intakes has experienced trauma beyond what we can understand. Even still they show us without question that they want to play, they want to love and be loved, but each one of them needs the right setting. We are committed to ensuring that they get exactly that. Simone has gotten along well with a few of the shelter dogs in the past. When approached by a laid back dog, she is quite playful. She is a kind, quiet girl but will not tolerate loud noises or anyone who makes much of a fuss over her. The only experience with cats that we are aware of is at the previous adopters house. We were told that Simone was fearful of the indoor cats. She will do well with older children who understand that she needs time and space.
