My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

---

Meet Dawn, she and her siblings were mystery mutts, but the DNA is in and we were mostly wrong... the's a little shepherd, but mostly Husky / Malamute.. Ha! At about 12 weeks, they are 25#, so we are guessing 60-70+ pounds. The puppy is currently in foster and learning all things puppy - she's doing great on both crate training and house breaking. Her foster family loves her, she's good with the resident dogs, including a previous SAM adoptee. The home has older children and she's been playful.

We think Dawn's ideal home is one with a large fenced yard, previous dog experience and another friendly dog in the home. The litter is learning so much and having another friendly dog makes the transition a more happy one.

This puppy is spayed and microchipped. She has all her puppy vaccinates and just needs her Rabie vaccine. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Snohomish County. This puppy is ready for a forever home.

Adoption fee is $475 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
