My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Shinju… it means Pearl in Japanese. Shinju is about 2 yrs old, she weighs approximately 60 pounds and is a husky-pit mix… at least that’s what everyone thinks.
Shinju has a medical condition that is managed well with medication and like many of us, she does have a little bit of baggage from her past.
Shinju is a very sweet and loyal dog who does well with people and other dogs, although she can be cautious and nervous at first. She is up-to-date on her shots and vet appointments. She is crate trained; in fact, she loves her crate and it is her preferred place to sleep when it’s bed time.
She loves attention, treats and belly rubs. She has attended a 6-week puppy training class and knows her name and these commands: sit, no, car ride, walk, high 5, go potty, and shake. She likes long walks around the block, trail hikes, jumping and running around in water, and she really loves playing in and eating snow.

More about this rescue

Aiding 2 Adoption Rescue (A2A Rescue) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats. By working with a network of volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers and shelters, A2A Rescue is able to rescue hundreds of animals every year. We provide these animals with veterinarian care and temporary homes until we can place them in their permanent homes. We also serve as a resource to our community by providing information on pet ownership, including resources for spay/neuter, positive behavior training and veterinary care. We believe that no animal should be mistreated and are working towards the day when no companion animals are euthanized for lack of a home.
