My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What can we say about this beautiful flower? A LOT! Our Violet is an absolute lovebug - crate trained, house trained, walks well on leash. And while she loves men, women and children... her one true love is FOOD! Sure, she loves to play with toys - never met a ball she won't fetch! She loves to be outside with her people, rolling in the grass and showing off her skills but for the promise of a treat? Violet will do your taxes! (Well, maybe not your taxes but you get it) At 90lbs, it is clear she has been a bit indulged and could stand to lose some weight but it sure is hard to resist her sweet face so we get it! How is this magical creature not yet adopted? Well, she has one caveat. She needs to be an only dog. This is not a bad thing - she was just never socialized with other dogs and so she doesn't feel comfortable with them. And while that may seem like a challenge, we think the right family is ready to make her their one and only! She's a people dog, people!

So, are you looking for a wonderful companion and loyal friend who will totally be by your side on good days and bad days and weight loss journeys (especially for cheat days!)? Ask us about Violet today!

Interested in becoming a forever home for Violet? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application.

If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once.

Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws .

We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Violet.
We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Violet the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us.

Our adoption fee is $300. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention.

All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
