Meet Mitzy Name: Mitzy Age: 7.5 years Sex: F Breed: Pit/Shar pei mix Weight: 55 lbs Energy level: 2/10 Compatibility with other dogs: Great Compatibility with cats: No, high prey drive Compatibility with kids: Great Requirements: No cats/ small animals such as ferrets, rabbits Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes She is a very quiet dog. Would do great in a small living area but doesn't have to be. She does well on the leash and is learning new tricks daily. She is not a water dog, no interest in the pool at all. She does not get on any furniture, even though she sees my dog on the couch, she is perfectly happy sleeping on the floor. She likes chewing on a bones from time to time, other than that she is a very low maintenance dog.
If you’re looking for a low energy, very kind dog, this is your girl! She is super easy going! Gets along fabulously with other dogs! She is also amazing around children as well! No cats can be in a home with her, she has a high drive to chase them! When I first got her, she did not get on furniture but she does now! I think that’s because she likes to lie near my dog or me. The great thing is about that is she barely sheds! She is house-trained and does well on the leash.

More about this rescue
The Follow Your Heart Foundation is committed to preventing the unnecessary euthanization and abuse of abandoned and/or abused animals.
In order to fulfill this mission, Follow Your Heart will engage in the following activities:
Foster Program-Animals will be rescued from shelters and placed in temporary foster homes to save them from being euthanized. During this time, animals will be provided with proper nutrition, shelter and analysis to determine appropriate long term housing.
Adoption Services - the organization will work to find each animal that is rescued a forever home that is willing and able to make the long term commitment to a family pet.
Public Education - Abuse, neglect and irresponsible pet ownership leads to thousands of animals being killed each year. One way to combat these issues is through continued public education to not only raise awareness about animal abuse, but also promote responsible pet ownership.
Medical Treatment - Animals rescued will be provided proper medical treatment as needed.
