Meet Frankie! He is an energetic and loving dog who is eagerly searching for a forever home. He was recently featured on Franklin Barbecue`s Instagram. Yup, you may just be adopting a famous pup!
With a deep affection for humans, a passion for running, and a love for treats, Frankie`s vibrant personality make him a delightful companion for the right family. He’s housetrained, leash trained, and we recently learned brisket is his favorite food!
Frankie’s love for people shines through, as he eagerly greets shelter staff and volunteers with wagging tail and a contagious enthusiasm. His boundless energy and love for running make him the perfect companion for an active individual or family.
However, Frankie`s journey to find a forever home comes with a specific requirement - he needs to be the only dog in the household. Frankie prefers to have all the attention and love to himself.
That said, if you want a dog who you can take to bars, shopping, or around Lady Bird Lake - Frankie is still your guy! He happily greets other pups on walks, and is even in playgroup at AAC where our staff report he is a confident and friendly player. He just prefers not to share his space or people with other dogs.

AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
