My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introduction:
In the heart of our no-kill facility, a courageous bloodhound named Trusty is embarking on a journey to recovery. Diagnosed with heartworms, Trusty's spirit remains unbroken as he undergoes a carefully managed treatment plan. Trusty's story is one of perseverance, and he now seeks a loving home where he can continue his healing journey surrounded by the warmth of a caring family.

Background:
Trusty's past may be clouded with heartworms, but his future shines with the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Surrendered to our facility, Trusty's resilience has captured the hearts of our staff. Despite his health challenges, Trusty's tail wags with optimism, showcasing the indomitable spirit of this incredible bloodhound.

Physical Attributes:
With velvety ears and soulful eyes, Trusty is the epitome of the classic bloodhound charm. His heart may be on the mend, but his affectionate nature is unwavering. Trusty's treatment plan is progressing, and with the right care, he is poised to make a full recovery. His future family will witness the transformation of this gentle soul into a picture of health and happiness.

Personality:
Trusty's disposition is as endearing as his name suggests. Despite his health journey, Trusty is a beacon of hope, reminding us all that every step towards recovery is a step towards a brighter future.

Ideal Home:
Trusty is in search of a compassionate and understanding home where he can continue his healing journey. A patient family willing to provide the love and care he needs during his slow-paced treatment will find in Trusty a loyal companion. Trusty would thrive in an environment that values the importance of a relaxed pace, allowing him to recover at his own speed. Because of Trusty's continued treatments an ideal home would be close to our shelter as trusty needs to come in once a month for his treatments and will need to be checked at our partner vet clinic to ensure his treatments where a success and his heartworm is no longer before he can be fully adopted.

Adoption Details:
Trusty's adoption package includes ongoing heartworm treatment support, ensuring he receives the care necessary for a full recovery. Our dedicated staff is committed to assisting Trusty's adoptive family in understanding his unique needs and providing guidance throughout the treatment process. If you are interested in Trusty please visit our website at eastshoreha.org to submit an application and once approved staff will schedule your personal meet and greet to visit Trusty. Thank you!

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
