When we first met Jackson he was a little despondent. We came up to his kennel and he just sat with his back to us; as if to say he knew that we wouldn't help him either. Animal control had picked him up a month and a half earlier tied to a child's swing set. He had witnessed his share of people letting him down and he had given up faith. When we removed him from his cage he acted indifferently, ears down, a non wagging tail...he wasn't going to get his hopes up. Jacks had been at the shelter longer than most of the dogs there and his time was coming up, he had been given a reprieve time and time again but the shelter was filling up and there were at least 20 new dogs waiting in intake to get his kennel. We saw the sadness in his eyes and decided he needed a chance.
Within 24 hours of being in a home Jacks became a completely different dog. He now smiles from ear to ear and runs in circles trying to play keep away from all of the other fosters here. He loves water and rolls around in the small pools that we have. Jacks is crate trained and we are working on housebreaking. He loves toys and especially loves treats.
