My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Tony, he and his siblings were mystery mutts, but the DNA is in and we were mostly wrong... the's a little shepherd, but mostly Husky / Malamute.. Ha! At about 16 weeks, they are 30#, so we are guessing 60-70+ pounds. They are so soft and their coloring is definitely lab! :)

The puppy is currently in foster and learning all things puppy - crate training, house breaking and more. Tony was a little stressed when he was separated from his littermates. He loved the other dogs, but wasn't quite sure about the hoomans. He took a few days to relax and connect with his foster family. He was shy, but it clicked one day and he's definitely settling in. He's great with other dogs and does not care about cats.

We think Tony's ideal home is one with a large fenced yard, previous big dog experience and he really needs another friendly dog in the home. The litter is learning so much and having another friendly dog makes the transition a more happy one. He just attended Bark in the Park in Everett and was amazing.

This puppy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need one more puppy shot at 16 weeks. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. Our foster homes try to socialize each dog with other dogs, cats, kids and even livestock. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Snohomish County. This puppy is ready for a forever home

Adoption fee is $475 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptors only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
