This is Atlas. A cat who's always down for leashed adventures (check out photo #3).
Atlas has been in a wonderful foster home for about a month, after finding the shelter quite intolerable. See, she's not a cat's cat. And the fact that so many of her own kind were within smelling distance...was a fact that she just could not accept. So, off to a no-cat foster home she went! And now we are seeing the true, sweet, playful, agreeable, leash-walkable cat that we knew she was! Here are some things we've learned about Atlas while she's been in foster:
- She loves toys and is very playful. - She loves leashed-walkies. - Her favorite place is a cat tree by a large window. - Once she knows you, she doesn't mind being picked up and will snuggle in your hair and allow kissies. - She's skittish with loud noises. - She's got a human circadian rhythm and will not wake you up early. - She's met cat-friendly dogs, and come nose to nose, without issue. - She's perfectly behaved in the home. - She loves to look out the window and watch the birds fly by. - Her favorite thing is sleep on the porch out in the sun. - Atlas is friendly with everyone who comes in. She goes right up to them and greets them. - She has a quirky personality, and it will come through the longer you have her. - The neighbors all love her and comment how cute she is.
Doesn't she sound like a cool cat? If you think so, fill out an Adopter's Profile and we'll be in touch! OR just share this post to help get Atlas in front of more folks.

In response to COVID-19, and the current social distancing rules, all of our animals are now being housed in foster homes and our adoption procedures have changed. Please read the following ADOPTION STEPS on our website for further details!
**Please Note: Most of our adoptions are beginning with a foster-to-adopt period, and because of this, we are temporarily unable to consider applications from households outside the counties of: Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Monterey.
If you rent, please have a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord that states you can have a pet(s) ready.
If you’re adopting a dog, introduce your future friend to any other dogs in the family (dog adoptions only).
