Rocky is a 7 yr. old, neutered male bichon. Although Rocky supposedly lived with another dog in his previous home, he's been in foster care for awhile now, and we believe he needs to be an only dog. When he has been with other dogs in his foster home, scuffles and jealousy have been a consistent issue. He's much happier as an only dog. Rocky is house trained as long as he gets out regularly. If he is left alone for long periods of time or not given regular opportunities to go outside, he will mark in the house.
Rocky LOVES visitors. He will snuggle up to anyone who comes over to get some love. However, his favorite thing is to just hang with his trusted peeps. We don't have kids in our household, and given his alpha personality, we think Rocky would probably do best in an adult home. However, with all the adult visitors that have come to our house, with very few exceptions, Rocky has been extremely friendly. He is put off by loud, "in your face" behavior. This causes him to be very tentative. If we are running errands and are just going to be running in and out of stores for a minute here and there, Rocky comes along for the ride. He's a great traveler and LOVES coming along. If he's welcome in a store or restaurant and there aren't a lot of other dogs, we bring him along. He's great with PEOPLE, but not so much with other dogs.
Rocky is a couch potato when you want to sit on the couch and watch a movie or take a nap. However, he's also extremely active and playful. If you don't feel like playing with him, he'll find a toy or a dog bed and play with it all by himself. He can be a hoot to watch. If he feels you are not giving him an appropriate amount of attention, he will come over and either sit on top of you or "paw" you until you start doing your job! (i.e., petting him or playing with him!)

Once an application is submitted, it will be reviewed by one of our volunteers and the family's vet will be contacted for a reference.

Home Check
If the family passes step 1, we schedule a home visit. If possible, we bring the dog along during the home visit.

Sign Adoption Contract
Following the home visit, IF the family is approved for that specific dog and all parties are agreeable, an adoption contract is signed.
