Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mia is a 12 lb adorable Yorkie and a loving companion. About 2 1/2 years ago out of the blue she started dragging her back legs. We took her to the vet and were referred to Blue Pearl Emergency Vet hospital in San Antonio where we found out she had a herniated disc pushing on her spine and bruising it, and she needed emergency back surgery. At that time, we were provided with two options, put her down or do the surgery, which was around $5,000 and had a 50 percent chance of restoring the feeling in her hind quarters allowing her to walk again. She was only 4 years old at the time, so we opted to go ahead with the surgery. Now 2 1/2 years later and she is still paralyzed. My wife and I are both in our 60s and just can't give her the care she needs. I am desperately praying that there is someone who can give her a loving home and can give her the care she needs. Mia gets around in her wheelchair or drags herself around the house and doesn't let her handicap slow her down one bit.
