My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger is approx a year and a half. She’s super smart and needs an owner who loves working with their dog weekly. She can learn new behaviors quickly but, needs time to learn to trust new people. We have successfully introduced her to many people and once she knows & loves you—she doesn’t forget you.

Ginger has been great with dogs of all sizes and cats too. She is crate, doggy door, and house trained. She loves, loves, loves going through the car wash and playing with water from a hose. She enjoys chewing on Nyla bone dog toys and has been known to grab a squeaky toy or two to play with. Ginger has good house manners and is quite content to sit next to you on the couch while you read or watch tv. She will occasionally come over for a belly rub or to give you a quick lick—if you’re lucky. She’s not a big kisser so, if she gives you one, you know that you’re special.

Please reach out to us, if you’d like to meet our sweet girl. She’s more than ready for a family all of her own. Onedogrescued@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We are One Dog Arizona a non profit, 501C3 dog rescue which started 10 years ago to help local e-listed dogs. One Dog is a small volunteer based organization which believes all dogs have value and a family that would be perfect for them if only given a chance. Our dogs are kept strictly in foster homes throughout Arizona where they are socialized and learn the important manners necessary for living side by side with humans in such a way that benefits both human and canine.

We are a FORCE FREE RESCUE. We not allow you, or anyone such as a trainer, to use any aversive tools such as a prong collar, choke collar, shock collar, chain collar, halti collar, etc. We will not allow you to use or a trainer to use a spray bottle, a can of pennies, etc. We will not allow the alpha/dominant theory, the alpha roll, leash corrections, or any such technique that may hurt or harm the dog.

We are always looking for both foster families to house and care for our dogs while they await a forever family and volunteers to help network and care for our dogs while they attend adoption events.

Donations of any kind are greatly appreciated and needed. Exercise pens, dog toys, harnesses and food/treats are always needed. As is hand sanitizer--to help keep our dogs healthy--and spray bleach to keep their crates clean.
