Blackbeard is a handsome, FIV-positive guy who came to HART from our animal rescue partners in Pennsylvania. He is just over 8 years old, and has the big puffy cheeks of a formerly intact male cat, along with impressively long whiskers! Blackbeard is a very confident cat with a cool and calm attitude. He does not appear to really enjoy being in close proximity to other cats, but he does enjoy the company of people. His favorite part of having human friends is their shoes! He just can’t get enough of them. Blackbeard can be found right at your feet rubbing his head across the top of your sneakers. If he wants you to stick around, he may give you a playful swipe if you try to walk away. He is an independent fellow with a great personality, and would make a nice companion for someone looking for some low-key feline company.
Blackbeard arrived with some pre-existing health conditions, including skin allergies and eye entropion. He is currently on a couple medications and is eating a special diet. Due to his medical concerns, Blackbeard's adopter will need to have an established relationship with a trusted veterinarian, and a consultation with our Medical Manager will be required prior to his adoption.
This big boy is going to make some lucky human very happy as he likes to sit on your lap or be right next to you on the couch. We can’t wait to see him in his forever home.
