My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Playful puppy alert! Troy packs a lot of fun into his small, scruffy body. At 1-year old and 21 pounds, Troy is a bundle of love and enthusiasm. This cheerful boy wants to be with his people, pursuing every possible adventure or cuddling on the couch.

Troy loves walks, hikes, and exploring new places! He also loves meeting other dogs and people. He does great accompanying his humans on errands to dog-friendly stores. He just loves to explore the world with his humans, aka his best friends.

Cuddly Troy will make you smile just as much on the couch as at the dog park. After burning off his energy in play, Troy crashes into a typical puppy nap: dead-to-the-world, snoring oblivion. He loves drifting off on his person’s lap in front of the TV – but you might turn it off just to listen to his funny sleep-snuffles!

As a puppy, Troy would love a home with a yard where he can run off his energy, and a family that will give him lots of attention and teach him how to socialize appropriately. Although Troy is just beginning his puppy training, this little smarty already sleeps well in a crate, knows basic commands and learning new ones every week, absolutely loves a car ride, and waits for his food! This boy thrives with training. He loves it. He loves the focus and the purpose.

We’re seeking a home that will commit to using only positive methods to continue bringing out Troy’s best, well-behaved self. He gives his full attention and takes to training quickly, especially if treats are involved.

More about this rescue

Formed in 2017, One Planet Rescue may be a new rescue organization, but founder Farah Ravon, is far from new to the rescue community.

Farah’s extensive experience volunteering for local rescue organizations, as well as her latest work as the U.S. Representative, and Foreign Adoption Coordinator for Vafa Animal Shelter the last 6+ years, provided experience with rescuing animals from around the world.

Here at One Planet Rescue, our work is focused on injured and special needs dogs and cats who require immediate care. Because many of these dogs and cats do come from abroad, we are diligent about fully vaccinating, and spay/neuter prior to our rescue transport. (Sole exceptions would be puppies or kittens).

Although we would never turn down a local case, when rescuing abroad, we always open each case with the requirement of, foster to adopt. This protocol is set in place to confirm the rescue is the right fit for the family interested, and if they are not the right fit the rescue will be returned back to a One Planet Rescue foster.

One Planet Rescue does not have a local facility, rather individual sponsorships makes it possible for us to rescue dogs and cats from all over the world. We also work solely with foster families, this frees up donation funds to go directly to the many costs pertaining to the pets welfare. Domestic transportation, vet bills, foster care, are just some of these examples.
