Meet our handsome senior Bully named KJ! KJ came to our shelter after he was found roaming in town. No one ever came to claim him, so he is now looking for a family to give him the home he deserves! KJ is about 10 years old, and he is a very friendly guy! KJ is good with other dogs and is calm around them. KJ is not a fan of cats. He can go to a home with children 10 years old and older. KJ is a really chill boy who enjoys getting attention, but is not in your face about it. He likes to go outside and lay in a shady spot feeling the breeze go over him. **When he first came in to our shelter, KJ had severely crusted over eyes that were a goopy mess. We thought he had an eye infection. After some tests, we found out that KJ has Dry Eye Syndrome. This means he basically does not create enough tears, and this causes his eyes to become irritated. He will need to be on lifelong daily eye medication for this condition. He is currently receiving Cyclosporine drops twice daily, and they really do help him! KJ is the most wonderful boy for having his meds done! He gets a treat, stands like a gentleman while you wipe out his eyes and apply the medication, then gets another treat and he is happy as a clam! Other than having Dry Eye Syndrome, his bloodwork came back fine.**
MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.
An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
