My story

Pearl is a sweet 23 pd 5 1/2-year-old beagle mix who was surrendered by her owner, along with her 10 puppies, to a municipal shelter in West TN. The shelter reached out to CPR for fostering and adoption placement. Pearl is a very good girl. She is learning where the door is to go out to potty in her new foster house. The shelter staff said she NEVER messed in her kennel. She always let them know when she needed to go out. She gets along with her foster family's three personal dogs and the additional foster dog in the house. If you are looking for a sweet little lady to add to your house, look no further than Pearl. She really is a GEM!

Pearl is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you!

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Why adoption is a great option

Pearl~adopted!, a Southbury Beagle/English Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/English Pointer for sale in Southbury, or seeking a Beagle/English Pointer dog from a breeder in Southbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/English Pointer breeders who help with Beagle/English Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
