I rescued Poppy from a wonderful rescue in the east bay after hearing her heartbreaking story. She was owned by a man who didn’t take care of her and was forced to be surrendered after she was picked up by animal control multiple times. While her temperament is good, she is very high energy and has shown signs of wanting to be the only dog. I am so heartbroken over needing to rehome her, as I’ve grown so attached to her but her needs are the most important. She does show resource protective behaviors with my other dogs, with food, treats, toys and attention. Her biggest concerns are her barking and jumping. She can nip, but it’s not hard and only when she’s excited. She’s never bitten, never even left a mark. But she needs someone who can dedicate the time to train her, really focus on her and be active with her. She loves being outside and LOVES kids. I also have a cat that she loves. She’s very sweet, she just needs more than I can give her.
