My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Bella
Nicknames: Miley Cyrus
Breed: Pug
Sex: Female
Age: 14 years young
Weight: 18 lbs.
Before OMD: Surrendered to the city shelter when her elderly owner could no longer care for her. She was surrendered with the note "she's really nice and likes to watch TV all day" and we agree but have to add this gal has absolutely no patience for commercials and will let you know.
Medical: She is deaf and down to her last few teeth which just happen to peek out of her bottom lip. A definite member of the mean muggin' for life club.
Energy level: Certainly doesn't come in like a wrecking ball, but has pretty good energy for an old gal. She's spry and enjoys short walks to break up her cuddling and snoozing.
Vibes: Think older woman who doesn't give a s*&%t rocking on her porch, shooting the breeze with you with a cigarette dangling from her lips and an overflowing ashtray to her right.
What we love: Her most perfect personality. How her walk is actually a cute little prance. Her adorable little hops up and down the stairs.
Best way to sum it up: A big extrovert in a small body whose love language is definitely physical touch. She’s happiest when you’re less than 18 inches away from her at all times.
What she loves: People. Cuddling. Walking. Wet food. Freeze-dried treats.
What she knows: Sit (point up). Paw (hand out).
What she’s working on: Nothing, she’s an angel. Even her barks are polite and quiet.
Leash manners: Superb.
Dogs: Has done well with the ones she’s met – she's mostly a co-exister though, so not necessary to have another in her forever home though.
Cats: She hasn’t met any while in rescue, but we don’t see there being any issue.
Kids: She has not lived with any, but we think she would do just fine with respectful, dog-savvy kiddos.
House-trained: Like a perfect lady, but as she is a senior lady we expect this could change in the future.
Crate-trained: Yes, but it isn’t necessary.

Bella is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is available for adoption to CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
