My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet our newest intake Slugger!
We pulled Slugger from Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control Facility Melfa as he is an amazing good dog who was in imminent danger of euthanasia due to lack of space and so many incoming dogs.
Slugger is good with people, and friendly with other dogs, and was non reactive to cats when walked through the cat room.
Despite his muscular body and big mouth Slugger is sweet, gentle and respectful. He is about a year old and full of comical goofy energy. There is no feeling down around this boy. He will put a smile on your face every time you look at him. His happy, jolly energy is infectious! He was neutered mid September and completed his shots and got his microchip at the same time.

Additional adoption info

In addition to adoptions to the public, we also work with local, approved, reputable rescues to place dogs and cats rescued from high-kill shelters.

More about this rescue

KMR Inc. was founded in 2010 by Susanne Hoshino in order to rescue homeless animals from high-kill environments. We assess, vet, adopt out, and/or transport to our Rescue Partners and provide outreach/education for pet retention and animal welfare.
Our core mission at Kindness Matters Rescue is to place adoptable homeless animals into loving forever homes and to promote responsible companion animal welfare through support, outreach, and education.
Kindness Matters was born in 2010 after a visit to a local animal control facility made Susi aware of the magnitude of the homeless animal problem. KMR is committed to lowering the staggering euthanasia rate and rescue as many wonderful adoptable pets as possible. We work constantly to build a magic net of rescue relationships throughout the Eastern Shore and the United States in order to rescue the most animals possible from these facilities.
Kindness Matters Rescue became a 501 c3 Charity in the beginning of 2019. We are very proud of the fact that we have rescued over 1,700 animals in our nine-year history.
