My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adalynn (Addy) is currently seeking a foster or adoptive family.

She is located in the Niagara area. Apply to foster or adopt at rebeldogrescue.com

All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.

Adalynn is a very special girl who has had a challenging start to life. At only 8 months old, she was found as a stray and taken to a kill shelter. Fortunately, Addy was saved from euthansia. She is a scared girl with no known back story before the kill shelter. Whatever her story is, Addy needs to rebuild her confidence. As such, we are looking for a patient adopter. An adopter that can spend time with Addy helping her feel safe. Addy would thrive in a household where structure and guidance are provided for her to be her best self.

Addy has been in Board and Train for approximately 3 months and has done very well (more details on that in a moment). Prior to her training program Addy lived in a foster home. In the foster home she had no accidents (with scheduled breaks). In her new home she will need consistency to learn a new schedule and how to signal she needs let out for her breaks. In her foster she slept through the night from about 10-8 without any accidents and minimal movement. Addy enjoys; toys, treats and naps close by her people.

Board and Train Update: Addy has built her confidence and learned so much in her board and train program. Her ability to follow food and seek positive reinforcement is helping her walk away from uncomfortable situations (interaction with other dogs). Addy is experiencing much less stress now with this understanding.

Addy is e-collar trained and is thriving with this added form of communication the collar offers. We are able to communicate with Addy by sending low level impulses similar to using leash pressure to guide her in the right direction. Addys new owner(s) will be shown exactly how the training works and what it takes to maintain it!

Addy has so much potential. She truly has all the qualities to make her an amazing companion, she just needs someone to say we got this and lead the way

Additional adoption info

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

More about this rescue

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
R.E.B.E.L stands for: rescue, educate, believe, empower and love dogs. We live by these words every day and encourage the dog-loving community to follow suit!
