My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Came from DeKalb County - SUFFERING, NOW HEALED!

SARINA, a SWEET Senior Dog, a super smart, Perfectly Housetrained, and Grateful Mix Dog Needs A KIND FINAL Home!

Needs a foster ASAP - WE Will pay $300/month for a Foster Situation (all needs supplied) with a fenced yard so she can run and play ball! Prefer no female dogs (NOT dog aggressive, reactive, but prefers all the attention)!

Ultimately - LOOKING FOR A KIND HEART/FINAL HOME For this senior girl- WHO LOVES OLDER EASY Dogs - AWHAR will always support financially!!

Sarina, an older dog who had suffered greatly in her life from neglect, was turned in to DeKalb in 2023 after being left in a park mid 2023.  She was initially placed at the back of the overcrowded shelter in a small crate.  She was truly suffering, barely able to walk due to being cramped up, and with horrible painful skin condition. A kindhearted person changed Sarina’s life by taking her as a foster! Her personality emerged from a dog that was incredibly sad looking, who had a hard time getting around ...to a dog so thrilled to eat, RUN and play, and and to be going on walks!  (You need to see her now chasing a ball)! She is smiling now and bright & optimistic dog, chasing balls and sleeping on a soft bed. She wags her tail, following anyone who has treats!  Boy, does she love those treats !

Sarina LOVES people and especially kids. Sarina would love to go on walks in a park with you, PLAY FETCH with a tennis ball, cuddle on a couch or simply just be by your side. Sarina is an amazing dog who deserves a family to call her own after the rough life she has had it's time to give her the happy ever after she deserves.

Sarina is a WONDERFUL girl who steals your heart in a minute!

  • Completely housebroken.
  • Great on a leash
  • Calm, super sweet who is friendly to all that meet her
  • Doesn’t bark (or hasn’t yet)
  • Loves to walk (& then returns to rest quietly on her soft bed)
  • Rides well in car
  • Enjoys toys, tennis balls - Will pay "on and on"!
  • Loves being loved on and petted (probably didn’t have much of this)

She is at a wonderful foster's home who cannot keep her long. They live in a tiny apartment and are away a lot for work and has another dog.  FOSTER TO ADOPT IS AN OPTION. WE SUPPY ALL NEEDS, and AWHAR will continue to support her financially AFTER she is Adopted! Contact us for details.

NO FEE for this dog for right home.  Will PAY for Foster AND AWHAR WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT FINANCIALLY WITH FOOD AND VET CARE for OWNER..

Would be great for a Senior! Needs a back yard to run and play!

To Do All We Can to Aid in the Rescue, Safety and Welfare of Stray and Abandoned Animals to end as much suffering as possible.

We realize we cannot save the world … but we can try by working with each rescued animal on an individual basis.

Go meet their pets

Because we are not a shelter, do not have a boarding facility, and are not connected with any other agency, we always welcome foster homes where animals can stay temporarily. We also welcome all tax-deductible donations from individuals or foundations.
No donation is too small.
