Joey came to us from the Stockton shelter where he ended as a stray up after being hit by a car. He was very neglected. The damage to his rear leg was so bad that it needed to be amputated.
In a recent interview, here is Joey in his own words:
“Hi! My name is Joey. I am a majorly cute, white furball and newly a tripod pup (more about that later). I am a 6 lb boy who likes to jet around [while mostly munching a toy) and so much loves cuddles and kisses—I’m a great kisser…belly rubs are great, too. I get along with all my foster pups but mostly I’m a toy kinda guy. I’m even chill when riding in a sling or purse. I know to do my pee/poop outside.
Now back to the tripod thing. I was hit by a car…big ouch. I was in danger of being euthanized because my pelvis was broken (Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs Rescue saved me, providing the medical care that I needed. Thanks to the rescue, I gotta lot of living to do!).
My left leg went dead (so they had to take it), but I’m all healed up now.
All that hasn’t slowed me down or kept me from being a supremely happy little man."
Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
