My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: Meoroo is available for adoption in Toronto, as his flight from Korea to Toronto is secured on September 18, 2023.

Meoroo was rescued from a harsh puppy mill in Namyangjoo, Korea this spring. He had lived a tough life, one of many dogs caught in a cycle of producing puppies in terrible conditions. Confined to a grim-wired cage, he missed out on sunlight and playtime, existing solely to make puppies for profit, often facing neglect or worse, the meat market.

Thankfully, Meoroo’s fortune changed when he was rescued. After a few months in a caring foster home, he moved to our partner boarding house, sharing space with other dogs. Throughout his journey, Meoroo displayed remarkable resilience and gentle nature, even amidst challenges.

Meoroo is not just smart but also incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate. He’s a real social butterfly, getting along famously with both dogs and people. Snuggling is one of his favorite pastimes – he’s an absolute cuddle enthusiast!

Meoroo’s best adopter would be someone whose lifestyle suits him. Retired folks or those who work from home would be great. Meoroo does well with care and attention, so he needs a family with time for him. He’s happy as the only dog, and he does best in a calm setting. A home with very active dogs might not be the best match since he prefers quiet. This is common for dogs like him who’ve had a tough start in life.

Meoroo means ‘wild grape’ in Korean.
