Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our very handsome striped boy named Ronin! Ronin is about 3.5 years old and he was surrendered to our shelter after his owner could no longer care for him. Ronin is a friendly guy who loves butt scratches and cuddling. He is a Hound dog for sure! Ronin has a great nose and howls away when he is excited. He can be timid when he meets new people or is put into new situations, but he warms up quickly, especially when treats are involved! Ronin is a nice medium size and he has medium energy. He will get zoomies outside, but he is not overly active. We are told Ronin is crate and housetrained. Sometimes when Ronin does zoomies, he gets a little overstimulated and can get a bit mouthy, but he listens to correction.
At this time, we are looking for a home for Ronin where he can be the only dog. He is friendly in social situations with other dogs and enjoys their company, but he has had some issues with guarding food from other dogs in the past, and we don't want to set him up for failure. He has not had these guarding issues with humans. Ronin is not a fan of kitties and will bark at them constantly. He can go to a home with children 12 years old and older.
If you are interested in adopting Ronin, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application!
MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly.
You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.
An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
