My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐶 🐕 UNA Female Border collie mix 12 weeks, 15 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶

UNA is 12 weeks and 15 pounds with a soft black coat, classic white markings, and the most astonishing ears! Occasionally NASA calls on her to listen into deep space for them. Her coat will probably be short (not smooth) to medium in length. And her personality? “Play” is Una’s middle name. She loves to play fetch with whatever toy or ball is thrown. She also loves to play tug with her foster mom and dad, or with any or all of the big dogs in the house. Her adult dog buddies Perkins and Skittles accommodate her whenever they are together. Una has recently graduated into the big dog room, where the big dogs, in turn, join her for socialization and play.

UNA is praise and treat motivated, so training should be fun. She is an active girl, but not over the top. She just wants to be included in all of her family’s activities. She would do well in a home with other dogs, but also would be fine as the only child. She likes to chase our indoor cats, and they escape to high places when she is around. An experienced adopter that has trained dogs to accept kitties may work.

UNA’s potty training is going pretty well. She hasn’t had an accident in over a week. She spends her nights quietly in her crate as well as when her foster family is away from the house. During the day, she enjoys spending time on the secure deck, from which she learned quickly she can come inside the house via the doggy door. She sits nicely for her meals and treats, and is learning to wait patiently before exiting her crate. This little girl is one smart cookie!

If you are ready for a super smart young pup and are willing to spend time training her to be the best she can be, while also including her in many fun activities, UNA may be just the girl for you.

UNA is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be spayed when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue Application (or apply here - https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to enquire about UNA, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

UNA is being fostered north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.
