My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio for DUTCH:

Dutch came to CALPAWS via the Los Banos Animal Shelter.  If you want to describe him in one word, look up "gregarious," and you will understand his personality very well.  Dutch loves nothing more than to love & be loved, and has quickly established himself as the "mayor" of his current foster home.

Be warned: Dutch is big and powerful, and so his efforts to express affection might well bowl you over, literally!
Fortunately, however, he is very compliant and will come when called every time and is always extremely eager to please!

Dutch will require a large and sturdy crate or kennel, but once he learns he can't pop the doors, he ceases any effort to try to escape.

Dutch has shown great ability to get along with both small and big dogs and can be described as "Cat curious" but has never shown any aggression toward them (or any other animal).

Dutch will definitely enjoy a home where he has plenty of space to run and play.  He's a big gentle teddy bear with a big loving heart, and he needs a big space to blow off energy. He is fun, loving and goofy!

Dutch originally came from Kern county. He was a lucky boy who was able to make it out of the shelter. He was liked a lot at the shelter and they advocated for him. Which is how he became a CalPaws dog!

Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00

Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter.

Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match.

Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application!

We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering
