Hi out there!! My name is Dixie and here's my story:
PHYSICAL INFO:
RESCUE STORY - When I was born, I thought that life was meant to be full of discomfort, neglect and hunger. That's all I had ever known! You see, like my mummy Kira and my sister Chanel, I was found in a home with 20 cats, my mum, myself and my 3 surviving siblings (of the original 13 that were born) and I was not being very well taken care of. I think my owner meant well but they simply didn't have the resources for this small zoo, and as my owner got sick we were left to fend almost entirely for ourselves. As a result I had a bad case of sarcoptic mange and malnutrition and had to be nursed back to health with some much-needed TLC. Since receiving this, I am now a healthy and spunky gal who is ready for her furever home (with you?)! I hope you'll give me a chance to prove to you how loving and loyal my special breed can be.
TEMPERAMENT - I'm a sweet and loving gal who loooooves humans and likes to give 'hugs'. I am good with children, dogs and cats too - how awesome! I love to give kisses and I am a really confident pup who has no problem socializing with other pups both big and small. I'm also curious and VERY food-motivated (a dog trainer's dream!). Despite my rough start to life, I have nothing but love to give to hoomans and can't wait to find my furever family.
ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate
GETS ALONG WITH:
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES:
ADOPTION FEE:

Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
