My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mae, a whip-smart 1-year-old Labrador and Spaniel mix. She is looking for a loving family who she can share kisses with!

Mae is a passionate and loving pupper who has been patiently waiting for the right family to take her home. She is an active gal who loves long sniffy walks, fetch, and spending quality time with her friends. Mae quickly became a staff favorite with her lively and gentle personality. She is ready to show off her star quality to her forever family, and she comes with a personalized training plan to help her continue to work on her resource guarding and impulse control.

My favorite things are:
- SNACKS (any and all kinds please)
- Fetch
- Exploring forest preserves
- Learning new tricks
- Splish Splashing in water
- Gentle pets

Cues I know:
- Sit
- Down
- Touch
- Stand
- Place
- Take it/drop it
- Recall
- Loose Leash Walking
- Let's Go! (Follow me)
- Pattern Game

Mae is an all-star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Mae or to schedule an appointment to meet her, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
