Gorgeous Lorelei was relinquished to Collin County Animal Shelter extremely pregnant. Knowing she was very young, RHS took her in so she could have her kittens in a loving and safe environment. Little did we know the next day she would become a mother to five babies!! She was the best mother any kitten could ask for, although she was very inexperienced. Now her kittens have grown into small cats looking for their forever home and so is Lorelei!
She has the most silky soft silver-gray coat that you’ll just want to pet. She absolutely loves human attention, but can become over-stimulated sometimes, so she needs to be in a home with a family that has experience with particular kitties. She has lived with a few dogs and decided they are not her speed, but she would do well with a quiet, passive cat as she is very dominant.
Sadly, momma cats are often left behind and have to wait months if not longer to find their perfect home. Please consider adopting this young-adult little girl; she will make someones home so very happy!!
Lorelei is spayed, up-to-date on all recommended vaccines and has been microchipped. She uses scratching posts appropriately and is litter box trained.

Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before applying, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share current veterinary records for all pets in your home and those owned within the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and undergo an in-person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative.
Complete Application. Complete an online application by clicking the “Adopt” button above or visiting https://www.richaqrdsonhumanesocietyl.org/adopt/.
Phone Interview/Vet Check /Landlord Check. Eligible applications will be forwarded to an adoption counselor, who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. The counselor will get a reference from your vet if applicable. If you rent your home, you must substantiate that pets are allowed on the property and that all related deposits, fees and rent have been paid.
Home Visit. After completing the steps above, an in-person visit will be scheduled to meet the pet(s) applied for. Arrangements to include the foster parent(s) will be made when possible to provide more detail about the pet(s). Instead of an in-person visit, a video of your home and the pet’s expected living space may be requested.
Complete Adoption. If all parties feel that a good match has been made, a time will be scheduled to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee: $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
