Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kobe is one of those heartbreaking cases that come around every so often. She is a senior dog that at one time had been loved and cared for by someone and somehow they were separated. She was found trapped in the middle of a busy highway at night.
She was lost, forlorn and in terrible looking condition; with hair so dirty and matted that it was hanging in knots in some places. With a lot of hard work combing and clipping by one of our volunteers she now looks like the gorgeous girl she once was.
This cutie weighs a good deal more than she should but with special food for overweight seniors and a good exercise regimen she can lose the weight, which will make it a lot easier and certainly more comfortable for her to move around.
Kobe will need a rare and special adopter; one that will be willing to take in a senior dog (you’d be surprised how many people are not) and devote the time and effort to make her healthy and comfortable for her remaining years. We are looking for that special someone who is prepared to continue with her exercise and weight reduction program.
Kobe is very enthusiastic about her walks and does nicely on the leash but because of the extra weight and the Florida heat she tires quickly. Even so, she is managing to walk 1 to 1 ½ miles, twice a day.
KOBE is a sweet, calm and quiet girl. She is spayed, up- to-date on all her shots, heartworm negative, housebroken and does not need to be crated. She gets along with other dogs but does not interact with them much so we believe she was previously an only dog. She is obedient (as much as Huskies are obedient) and knows the commands "sit" and "give paw".
Since she is new to our rescue and still being assessed, more information will be provided as it becomes available.
If you are that special person, you won’t go wrong adopting this beautiful girl. Click on the Adoption Application link at the upper left of this page and maybe you’ll be first in line to get her.
