Hi there, my name is Doodle Bear, and yes, I do resemble a cuddly teddy bear! I'm a friendly 5-year-old labradoodle, weighing in at a cozy 60 pounds. My sister and I found our way to Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue because our previous owner, who was in her 80s and battling dementia, couldn't care for us properly due to her health challenges. Despite my past, I'm overflowing with love for people. I'm house-trained, at least I was in a temporary home, and I'm a pro on the leash during walks. However, because of my experiences, I'd prefer to be the only furry friend in the household. All of our pets are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested if over 6 months old and will be spayed or neutered before being allowed to go home.
Unfortunately, we don't always know the background of each dog. Some were dumped, abandoned in an empty house, left tied to a tree, picked up by animal control as strays, or simply unwanted by their owners. Please take into consideration that owning a pet is a 10+ year commitment and discuss with all members of your family before submitting an application to adopt.
