We adopted Tyler from a rescue shelter. He has double dew claws, so he is probably purebred, but not papered (and he is neutered regardless). He was too sweet with our son to leave there. He is a young adult dog, so he is in his "teenage" years. He loves to sleep during the day and night, and is very active in the cool morning and evening hours. He loves running outside, and he needs a dog park to get his energy out. He loves people so much, he will pull on his leash to meet everyone and try and play with them. He is ~85 pounds of energy.
We rent and cannot keep him where we live - he is a great guard dog, barking equally at prowling coyotes and fruit-stealing squirrels. He loves kids and my kids' friends. Great Pyrenees are protective of their food, so they need their own food dish in their own space. He roams the back yard with guinea pigs and our small dog, and is good to them, stealing their food and protecting them from squirrels.
