Meet our sweet Pittie girl named Dutchess! Dutchess was surrendered to our shelter after her owner realized she did not have the time to take care of multiple dogs anymore. Dutchess is about 6 years old, and she is a really good girl! She was surrendered to us with her son, a dog named King. He is the dog in some of the pictures with her. King has already been adopted, but Dutchess is still looking for her forever home! Dutchess is not overly active and would be fine with a short daily walk. She will follow the energy of the household. Dutchess is a very friendly girl who loves getting attention from people. Dutchess interacts fine with both dogs and cats. She can go to a home with children 10 years old and older.

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly.
You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.
An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
