PEPPER IS IN FOSTER CARE IN NORWALK, CT
IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE
https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/
Pepper was a stray in TX and pulled off the euthanasia list. It is hard to believe that such a sweet dog almost never made it out of the shelter!
This adorable girl is approx 4-6 years old and 32 lbs and is a little on the chubby side and could do to lose some weight.
She is a really sweet and well behaved dog and is completely housebroken. She enjoys her walks but also loves to just hang out in the backyard while her foster mom is gardening. She loves to sprawl out on a sunny day in the grass. She has a pretty laid back personality and when inside she is a professional couch potato.... she loves to snuggle up with her person on the couch. She is a very smart girl and has already mastered several commands in the short time she has been in CT! She enjoys the company of other calm dogs but really doesn’t like to play very much with the other rescues.
She has a wonderful disposition and loves people but can be a little shy when she first meets someone out on a walk. She is also slightly reactive when she sees another dog but she is learning with treats that it's not such a bad thing! Having come from a stray dog background she is understandably cautious with strangers!
we did a dna test on Pepper and she is mainly Australian cattle dog with 13 other breeds mixed in....
Pepper is spayed and fully vaccinated. She tested positive for heartworms when we rescued her and has been treated successfully and has recently tested negative.
OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years.
