Our sweet old dauchshund Harley is ready for a wonderful new home,
He is approx 12 yrs.13 lbs and has 2 teeth !! we had to do extensive dental work on him when we took him in, but he still manages to eat dry food along with soft canned,he was found abandoned in Melrose Park,Houston, Tx
Some crappy owner just dumped him to fend for himself , all he wants is to be your best friend, he goes where his foster goes, he sleeps under the bed covers and just wants to be loved
he doesn’t interact with the other rescues and as long as they don’t bother him, he gets along fine with all of them
he likes wandering around the yard, but he would be fine without one as long as he was taken out for walks several times a day
He would be ideal for an older person that can give him lots of Tlc and wants a sweet,laid back companion, its so rewarding to adopt an older dog, they are so grateful for a nice bed and food !
OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years.
WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER
The total adoption fee of $400 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper , and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at
