My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixi was found by a neighbor. She was heavily pregnant and our neighbor was kind enough to bring her inside and allow her to give birth safely to her three puppies. Our neighbor also allowed the puppies to nurse for almost 9 weeks and when they were ready found them homes. Unfortunately, our neighbor was not able to give Dixi a forever home and so Dixi was surrendered to our rescue. She is definitely a Lap Dog. She loves children ALOT, and is fine with other dogs. She weighs only 7 lbs. and is over a year old so we do not expect her to get any bigger. Her spay surgery is scheduled for 8/30 at Simi Valley Spay Neuter clinic and our rescue will pay for this service. Dixi will also receive her rabies Vax on the same day. Dixi comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy, and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). She also comes with one week of free professional dog training with our partners at GoodPup if you’re interested in adopting Dixi please send your inquiry to info@Concerncitizensanimalrescue.org and we will immediately send you an application. From Dixi’s loving foster mama:
Dixie - Despite a tough start, this little lady is just looking for her furever family - she is a very loving, friendly, gentle little lady who does have her sassy side - which in itself is charming - including ears that seem to have a life of their own and definitely reflect her mood.
When she first came to foster she was very shy, but soon settled and became quite the charmer. She loves to cuddle, and loves to walk. As her confidence grows so does her agility and nimbleness. Good with other dogs, and really enjoys being with hoomans. Crate trained, potty trained, leash trained - just the goodest girl imaginable.
An all of 7lbs cutie who will bring great pleasure and memories to her furever home.
Dixi’s foster home is in Lakewood California and all meet and greets will be held at her foster home. We do not transport animals and we do not except phone calls initially thank you in advance for your interest in Dixi.
