My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Astro is a sweet, young lab mix pup who was surrendered by his adoptive family (he had been adopted from another shelter a few months back when he was only a couple months old). His family couldn't get him trained and said that his stool had consistently been mushy and they weren't able to figure out why. Astro has no known health issues but did have hookworms so it is possible that the worms were never fully eradicated. He is approx 5-6 months old and still a puppy. He is full of energy and is a happy little guy. He gets along well with other dogs and kids. He hasn't been around cats but he is a pup so he should do fine with proper introductions. He does walk on a leash and would be a wonderful dog for a home with kids or other dogs since he is playful and active. Astro is going to be a wonderful family companion.
Astro saw the vet on 9/15/23. He appears to be in great health and no issues were noted on his exam. He is still to young to be tested for heartworms but is on Simparica Trio for monthly heartworm prevention/flea control. He did test positive for hookworms on his fecal. We treated him with Drontal for the hookworms.
If interested in giving Astro his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Astro's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Astro based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
