My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Theodore is a loving and loyal boy who is easy going and gets along with everyone he meets (dogs included!)

Whether he's lounging in the sunlight or snuggling in for a nights rest in his crate he always has a good attitude and goes with the flow. Not high maintenance at all- Theo just wants to spend time with his people and doggy pals. He's come a long way with his leash manners and does great on walks and hikes. In the right setting he can even be let off leash and always comes back when called.

Theo does great in a pack and has been so sweet and gentle with his 10lb foster doggy sibling. He loves to snuggle and be close and would most likely be happy to be an only dog as well.

Theo is in his goofy adolescent phase and still get very excited at times. Because of this he would do best in a home without small children but would be great with older kids!

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.
Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.
Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.
Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
