Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Shaymus is a long haired orange tabby that is absolutely gorgeous! You always know when he’s approaching; his purrs aren’t just loud, they vibrate the pillow when he lays down too allowing you to feel at peace. He enjoys his back rubbed gently even if he is drifting off to sleep.
Shaymus is the largest of six. He was the biggest from day one when he was born. Don’t let his size fool you! He’s a big boy but a very sweet and gentle soul, and quite affectionate, even though he loves to play hard!. He LOVES the lasers, jumping over tunnels while chasing a toy, then leaps on a tower and take his prey proudly to the top.
This precious boy will follow you around like a lost puppy and go in every room you do. Sometimes, he enjoys laying with his siblings, other times he wants to be with his human. He will sleep at night on the pillow beside you, by your feet, or your side, but hasn’t quite found his spot yet.
He loves to help make the bed, so he thinks, by getting under the fitted sheet, then tries to run and play underneath the flat sheet before it falls on him! He’s such a good helper!
Shaymus also has a hearty appetite for food. He’s started begging early on. He has not been allowed human food, but he still knows when you are eating and will want to try to eat what you are eating.
He is shy around people just because he hasn’t been around many humans other than his foster mom. After given his favorite treats slowly by a stranger, he relaxes and will play with his siblings in the vicinity of the stranger. As long as he is given time and treated gently, he will acclimate nicely.
