My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am part of the Jimmy Buffet litter. **** Update on Magic. She is doing extremely well after 2 weeks at our house. She is happy and extremely playful. She enjoys going on leash walks, playing chase with the large resident dog and relaxing on the dog couch. She has learned sit, spin, down and we are working on some other commands and tricks. She is excellent on the leash with no pulling and she goes to the barn to feed the cats and does wonderful with them. She is very respectful of them. She met some new people this past weekend and although she was a little shy she didn't run or hide and she let them pet on her. She has made incredible progress. She does have a little shoe fetish but not to chew on them, just a collector. She is a real fun and super sweet puppy. *** I am a quick learner and I am potty trained. I enjoy stuffies and playing tug-o-war with my siblings. Squeakers keep me intrigued. I am treat motivated which will help with training. I am extremely shy but will warm up to my people in a few days. I love other dogs. I can be fearful of dogs that are exuberant players and may snap at them in fear. I am afraid of quick movements and loud noises but as I adapt I get less reactive. My reaction is to scoot out of the way. I like chewing on bones and collecting them to put in my bed with me. I will go in the trash, so covered trash cans are a must. I like to rip up paper and tissues. I will be a flight risk until I feel safe with you, so a secure fenced yard is a must. Another dog would give me social support. I am working on my recall and I do great when there are treats involved. I have started leash walking in my new harness and that is a lot of fun. I am super sweet and want to be with my people so I follow you all over the house. I like dog beds and other comfy furniture. I rarely bark, only if the door bell rings or someone come in the house I don't know and I keep it to a minimum. I play well outside and love to have you throw my ball. I bring it back sometimes but prefer to throw in the air and chase on my own. I would do best without the commotion of children and in a quiet household. I am house trained and sleep in my crate, love treats, will roll over for belly rubs once I trust you and will be a nice companion but it will take patience and baby steps. I met the barn cats and really didn't care or even try to smell them, so my prey drive seems low or non-existent. Keep watching for updates and new videos each week. My foster will continue to provide updates along my journey. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our process includes the completion of an application Upon completion of the application we will:

Contact your vet for information on current and previous animals. It is critical that you have authorized your vet to release information to us.

If you are a renter, we will contact your landlord for verification of animal acceptance, or you can provide a copy of your lease.

Complete a background check using publicly available information.

If applying to adopt a dog, we will complete a home visit which requires all household members to be present.

After the approval is complete you will be free to meet our animals. When meeting dogs, all members of the household as well as any dogs will be required to meet prior to finalizing any adoption.
Our process is thorough and allows us to make every effort to identify the right match for your family. Please be forthcoming of all information during the process as that is what allows us to find the match. Adding a new family member is FOREVER and will adjust your free time, finances and overall life style. Animal adoption is a serious decision.

JR's Pups-N-Stuff, Inc. is a volunteer based organization. Most volunteers have full time jobs and families. Our dedication to helping each and every animal find the right match can take time. Please understand and be patient during the process. Thank you.

More about this rescue

We are an all breed dog rescue and help with some cats as well. We strive to help reduce the over population of pets by spaying and neutering our pets and find forever homes for pets left in shelters that otherwise would be euthanized.
