Mandy was brought to a local ER vet after being hit by a car, then transferred to the Stockton shelter. No one claimed her, so the shelter asked us to pull her and provide medical care. She had a fractured hip and leg. FHO surgery was performed and the leg was splinted. She is all healed. Mandy loves and is very playful with other dogs, she is bonded with the foster’s pitbull mix. Smaller dogs can be intimidated by her playful energy. However, with people she was very reactive to strangers that she met.

The foster has been working on socializing her in different settings (dog park, vet’s office, etc). Mandy does very well with a handler that is calm and confident when working with her.

Mandy would do well in a home with another playful active dog her size or bigger. She also needs an experienced adopter that radiates confident / pack leader vibes.

Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13.
