My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.
Scout is a sweet, anxious girl, who prefers females and gets along great with cats. She is the perfect dog for a single female, looking for companionship and a low maintenance dog. She prefers to be in her safe space (home) and will contentedly sleep near her person all day if allowed. She is trained on a gentle lead for walking, and gets along with some dogs but not all.

Additional adoption info

Please come in and visit with our pets available for adoption. Once you find an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption survey and meet with an adoption counselor. We do require landlord approval and we do not adopt out animals to live completely outside. Our adoption fees are $75 for dogs and cats under 5 years old and $55 for those 5 years and older.

More about this shelter

The shelter has very active volunteer and foster programs. Volunteers walk dogs and help with cat care. Fosters take young, shy and injured animals into their homes to prepare them for adoption. Learn more on our website and consider getting involved today!
