Hound lovers- meet Lady! Lady is a 4 year old little beagle girl looking for an experienced home. In hound style, Lady has the tendency to be vocal and expressive, especially when she feels nervous. She's easily spooked by other dogs, too many new people or people encroaching on her space when she wants to be left alone. But once Lady does feel more comfortable with people when given time, she will open up and share her inner sweetness that she has shown staff/volunteers. Lady loves being outside for long walks, sniffing her surroundings (like a typical hound), and stopping for roll arounds on the grass. She also likes settling down on a nice comfy bed afterwards to nap. Lady is looking for a low traffic, adult only home, with no other pets, and one that will understand Lady's need for patience and respect of her boundaries. Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.
To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
