Moriarty, known as Mosey, is a beautiful male 8 month old ShihTzu/Maltese mix who came into rescue on September 11th. He was initially fearful of his foster mom and Shih Tzu foster sister, but became quickly attached to them and now lives happily and playfully with them. He enjoys meeting and playing with older guests who have come into his foster mom’s home.
Mosey loves to play with his toys! In particular, he likes to play fetch with his ball. He will keep bringing it back repeatedly for more fun. He plays by himself with his toys throughout the day, but he’s a little mischievous pack rat! He’ll carry shoes, clothes or whatever he can find to his dog bed for safe keeping. He is cute, happy and so full of puppy fun! His new family must have the energy and desire to provide plenty of exercise and interactive play time for this little guy!
Mosey previously had no experience with walking on a leash, but he has quickly learned, and now goes on three walks plus potty breaks throughout the day. He loves walking and exploring, and his foster mom is training him to do his business while on walks as well as during his quick breaks outside. His new owners will need to continue his house training in order for him to be fully trained.
Mosey would love to have a fenced in yard where he can run freely. If this is not possible, he needs at least 3 walks a day with short breaks outside in between. Mosey is a healthy and adorable little fella that would make a great addition to the right family.
The following are requirements for adoption of Mosey:
• A quiet, calm home with another stable, yet playful, small canine companion.
• Because Mosey is a puppy, and Shih Tzus can live from 15-17 years, no applications will be accepted from seniors.
• No young children under the age of 12.
• A fenced yard would be great, but long, regular walks throughout the day will help him burn energy and socialize with people and other dogs.
• Mosey will need patient owners who are willing to continue with potty training. This means someone who is home much of the day to take him out, as well as provide lots of playtime with exercise and toys.
• A home within 40 miles of west Woodbury, MN.
• Must commit to attending the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.
Mosey is healthy, neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $470.00 plus $40.07 sales tax for total of $510.07.
