My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Eno - an affectionate, fun-loving guy who loves to fetch and knows how to drop the ball. He walks very well on a leash, periodically stopping to roll around and look at fascinating new things. Eno rides calmy in the car and would make a great hiking buddy.

An intelligent guy, Eno knows Sit, Stay, Come, Watch Me, and Leave It. When visitors arrive, Eno observes them calmly - no barking or jumping. He sleeps through the night in his pen without a peep; during the day he prefers to be out and near his human.

Because of his youthful energy, Eno would do best in a home with older children. He likes playing with other dogs, and while he quickly picks up their boundaries/likes/dislikes, he isn't able to back down if confronted with a dominant attitude. At the same time, sharing his toys with other dogs is a skill he has not yet acquired. Eno would be best with dogs who aren't interested in his toys or in an environment where toys are always given separately.

PHYSICAL
Eno is about 13 inches tall with a stocky body, a smooshy bulldog face, and very expressive eyes. He has jet-black fur with some white on his chest and paws.

HEALTH
Eno is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

HISTORY
Eno came from a local shelter.

Our adoption coordinators will reach out to you to connect you with our foster homes.

Take the Pet Home

After meeting with the foster home, they will coordinate with your on how best to deliver the pet to you once all steps have taken place.

You may not be an undergraduate student.

You must be a US citizen or green card holder.

Our goal is finding lifelong, loving homes for our animals, so we try to find the best match between animal and adopter. We can help advise you on which animals to meet based on your situation.

You can meet some of our animals at our weekend adoption events, or we can arrange for a meeting in the foster home. If it’s a good match, the foster parent will come to visit your home in person. This is to make sure your home is safe and secure for a new companion animal.

Note: IAR makes every effort to please our adopters, but our first concern must be for the animal’s welfare. We reserve the right to deny any application.

More about this rescue

IAR started with one woman's big dreams, a bigger heart, and a very distinctive purple pickup truck that helped her rescue countless of unwanted, abused, and homeless Triangle pets. Originally founded in 1994, IAR earned an official 501(c)(3) status in 1995. We are governed by a Board of Directors, managed by elected officers, and introduced IAR’s first paid position, General Manager, in June 2021. This role will assist with elevating our collective compassion to new heights and strengthening IAR’s impact as a whole.

Our mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. We shall strive to help all animals in need through our service programs. We will serve our communities through promotion of spay/neuter for all companion animals, and the education of children and adults in humane care, respect and responsibility for animals on this earth.
