My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have we got a Dutch treat for you! This silly, 16-month-old boy (as of July, 2023), might have had a lonely start to life, but man-oh-man is he ever making up for lost time! After finding himself at the age of 6 months behind bars at the Devore animal shelter, Dutch was rescued and has been keeping his foster mom on her toes and laughing ever since. He is an active and playful Shepherd mix. Dutch recently completed an obedience training course at Corcha Balanced K9 and came through with flying colors! He knows all his commands and any adopter has the support and guidance of Corey and Cynthia, his trainers who think he is a rock star dog.

This boy is the physical embodiment of “everything, everywhere, all at once”! Are we going for a walk in the rain—yay! Are we playing chase with our canine foster sisters—yay! Are we going for a ride in the car-yay! Are we just gonna cuddle on the couch—well, you get the idea. There’s really not much that Dutch doesn’t enjoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious! Because of his working breed background and high intelligence, Dutch is a fast learner and very eager to please. We think he’d do best in an active home with a good leader, where his zest for life will really shine. A canine companion would be great, but as long as he has doggy friends, it’s not a deal breaker. So whaddya say, wanna go Dutch?
Dutch is fully vetted and very healthy. He is crate trained and potty trained.

More about this rescue

We, at Deep South Canine Rescue, love our fur babies more than anything on this earth. Day in and day out we bend over backwards making sure they have anything and everything their hearts desire and to make sure they're ready for a forever home. In return, we get more love than most people get in a lifetime. Rescue work is hard, it takes a team of very passionate and committed people. It is a lifestyle that requires you to make sacrifices for the good of the pups, and we never think twice. As long as our babies are healthy & happy, we are happy.
