My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sometimes we all need someone to cut us a little slack and take a chance on us. Tia, a 6 yr old petite little pittie girl, has found herself in that boat. She has spent the last 450 days in a shelter and while the first few months were not so bad (in fact she was such a good girl she was frequently chosen to be the office dog) as time wore on shelter life took it's toll on Tia. She had a few temporary foster homes, a surgery to help repair a ligament injury on her back leg and though everyone was just trying to help Tia, the whole experience left her feeling a bit out of sorts. But the good news is that once in a quiet home environment, with a person she trusts, Tia just curls up like a furry little couch potato and wants to drift off to dreamland while you catch up on your Netflix list. Tia needs stability, quiet and understanding so she can decompress and shake off the last year of her life. We are trying to help her find a home without kids or other pets, and a human companion that enjoys a quiet lifestyle. Tia comes with our full support and has a good human friend that is a trainer. So, whatever Tia and her friend or family need to succeed, we will will provide it. She just needs someone willing to give her that chance. If that's you, please fill out our online adoption questionnaire and we'll get in touch to have a chat about Tia.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We strive to place all of our rescued dogs in forever homes.

Our adoption process includes an questionnaire to learn more about what you are looking for, a meet and greet with the dog and your pets, a home visit, and an adoption contract.

Our adoption fee is $250 for adults and $350 for puppies. To encourage families to consider bringing in senior dogs to their home, we usually waive or greatly reduce the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Shadow's Fund was created to provide rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing for seniors and other special needs dogs that often get passed over by the public in shelters. Our goal is to provide those without hope the chance to experience love and joy again.
