My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Millie is a sweet, happy, loving little dog since her surgery, and getting on her meds. She likes to take short walks with you. She is not leash trained, but she is learning. Off leash, she will make every step I make. She loves to play tug of war and fetch for short periods. She is well potty trained to the outside. She has gotten along with the neighbors dogs. My cats ignore her, but she would be friends if they would. She does have some medical conditions. She has Cushing's disease which is being controlled with daily meds. She needs bathes 3 times a week with a medicated shampoo. Skin problems from one of the side affects of Cushing's is skin issues. She has had 4 tumors removed. One tumor was covering an eye, the eye is fine. She has some fatty tumors 'lipomas that are benign and do not affect her at all. She is a lovely, happy, loving, little dog. Eager to please, but a little gentle lady, too. She is between 12 and 15 years old.

Millie was rescued from the vet when her owner brought her in to be euthanized for her eye growth. Mille is an absolute DOLL! She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Millie has cushings so will have to remain on meds for life so her adoption fee has been waived. Millie weighs 20 lbs.

Millie's adoption fee is WAIVED FOR THE RIGHT HOME.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
