My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scroll no further! I want to introduce myself. My name is Truffles. My mom is an unfriendly cat who was living in the back yard of a woman, named Angie. She was so mean that she was named "Crazy." She got pregnant and big, as there were 8 of us in the litter. "Crazy gave birth in my foster mother's home and nursed us. When we were old enough, she got spayed and returned to Pembroke Pines. Even though she is unfriendly, she took excellent care of us. My foster mom petted me (a lot) and let me sleep with her. Check out my bio photo of me sleeping on her shoulder. That's my favorite place to be.

A little about me! The first thing people always notice about me is how affectionate I am. My favorite things are people who rub my cheeks and people who give me cat treats. Yep, I'm easy to please! I grew up with many foster brothers and sisters and love to spend time with them. If you have any cats, I will be their friend too!

An ideal day for me would start out with breakfast... then I would play with you and my toys and have a quick nap. Lunch would be next on the agenda. Then an afternoon nap. When you get home from work, I will sit on your lap and let you pet me. I would wake up just in time for dinner. We can play again after dinner and then I would be happy to sleep in bed with you. What will make me happiest in my furever home will be plenty of cuddling & attention. You can say I'm a super sweet cat looking for my furever home and a family of my own!

Adoption fee for this cat includes FVRCP vaccine, FIV/FELV testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate) wellness vet visit, one month of pet insurance and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at https://gkarma.wufoo.com/forms/good-karma-pet-rescue-cat-adoption-screening/ if you are interested in meeting or adopting this cat and we will be in touch right away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.

Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.

Go meet their pets

We meet potential adopters by appointment only, typically in the foster's or potential adopter's home. Dogs can be arranged to be seen at a local park or a similar location.

More about this rescue

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.

GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.

GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!
